Introducing our newest Capra Granulosa Premium Leather, a product of meticulous craftsmanship and exceptional quality. This leather is derived from the same raw material as our esteemed SHG, and its allure lies in its naturally obtained, grainy character achieved by a specialized shrinking process during tanning. This leather prides itself on its authentic appeal; there are no artificial graining techniques used to conceal grain defects like plating or embossing.

This is the same recipe as our original CG.   The chemicals are identical from the same Italian chemical house.  The mechanicals have been slightly modified to give a more distinct grain.   (mechanicals refer to the mechanical operations in the tanning process,  such as drying, toggling,  and so forth

 

Our Capra Granulosa leather undergoes a shrinking process in the tanning phase that enhances the richness of its “heavy” grain. This process results in a 25% reduction in surface area, marking an increase in production costs, which only underlines its superior quality.

This premium leather is drum-dyed, topped with a light cover coat but without the use of pigment to cover grain defects. The excellent water absorption quality of this leather guarantees great results in blind tooling.

We recommend Capra Granulosa for fine bindings.

Given that only the highest-grade vegetable goatskin can result in this type of leather, our pricing remains incredibly reasonable. Special colors are available upon request.
