Produced from the same raw stock as SHG. However, skins are shrunk in tanning to provide a natural grainy character which is very attractive. Grain is naturally obtained, no artificial graining techniques to hide grain defects such as plating, embossing, etc .
Leather which has been shrunk in the tanning process to produce this “heavy” grain has lost 25% in surface area, increasing the cost of production accordingly
Leather is drum dyed with a light cover coat. No pigment is used to cover grain defects. Water absorption is excellent which yields good blind tooling.
Suggested for fine bindings. All skins are #1 grade
Only the finest and best grades of vegetable goatskin can produce this leather. Very reasonably priced. Special colors are available on request.
