Siegel’s Vegetable Tanned Water Buffalo Grained Goatskin

Debuting in July 2014, Siegel proudly introduced an innovation in leathercraft: the Vegetable Tanned Water Buffalo Grained Goatskin.

Siegel stands out as the sole provider of this distinctive leather, carving a niche in the world of leathercraft.

    Craftsmanship & Purpose:

Designed as a premium alternative to the commonplace chrome-tanned water buffalo, our offering is meticulously engineered to cater to the bookbinding and small leather goods industry. Unlike its chrome-tanned counterparts, our goatskin is tanned using vegetable extracts, ensuring it retains the hallmark characteristics of traditional vegetable-tanned leather.

    • Size: Typical skins range from 4.5 to 6.0 sq ft.
    • Thickness: Substance lies between 0.7 to 0.9 mm.
    • Finish: Subtle light pigment, enhancing its natural allure.

Tailor your leather! We offer bespoke color options to match your vision.

    Volume Orders & Pricing:

If you’re looking for bulk orders, reach out for special volume pricing. Edition binders might find this leather particularly appealing, given its unique texture combined with competitive pricing.

Dive into the realm of unparalleled craftsmanship with Siegel’s Vegetable Tanned Water Buffalo Grained Goatskin.

I like the buffalo grain! It is very similar to Rivergrain when working with it, but has a uniquely different grain.
