To the best of our knowledge, Siegel is the only source of vegetable tanned water buffalo grained goatskin. This is a new product as of July 2014.
It is created as an alternative to currently available chrome tanned water buffalo. Siegel’s product is specifically intended and engineered for the bookbinding and small leather goods trade. This leather is vegetable tanned rather than being chrome tanned. The skins will pare nicely and have the other typical characteristics of pure vegetable tanned leather. Typical skin size is 4.5-6.0 sq ft. Substance is 0.7-0.9 mm
