This leather is intended for the restoration of books bound in ‘morocco’ leather in the late 19th and early 20th century. This leather would have been referred to as hard grain morocco. The grain pattern is for this period.
Historically, the leather was made on goatskins which were embossed with the same or similar plate to the one that is used for the Restoration Morocco.
Tanned with Tara & Chestnut, both pyrogallol tanning agents, known to produce leather with good longevity.
Skins range in size from 5-10 ft/each with a substance of 0.8-1.0 mm.
